The other day, I came across an article written by Fareed Zakaria called The Supreme Court tumbles into political dysfunction . about how the supreme court has succumbed into the hands of petty politics. He mentions that without proper checks and balances amongst the three branches of government, the very foundation of democracy has been threatened. Fareed Zakaria is a columnist writing for the Washington Post. He studied in Yale and earned a PhD in Harvard. He received a  Peabody award in 2011 for a program which he and CNN developed. I believe he is a highly credible columnist because of his educational background as well as his breadth of past experiences as an editor, columnist, analyst as well as a host. In my opinion, I feel that this is a very important article for the general audience from both parties, as well as independents to read because it touches upon all the different branches of government and how it can be impacted due to credibility issues. Commentary on  Kelsey's Government Learning Journey For Kelsey's post, she wrote about her opinion of the impact which celebrities have on polls. I personally have to agree with what Kelsey has to say because as a millennial, I am more likely  to be swayed by media though, I don't see how a celebrity stating his or her political opinion has a large impact on the outcome of polls. I do believe that young people could be inspired to go vote by celebrities but not who people vote for. Celebrity influence on adults is hardly moving as not many adults pay attention to this kind of media. I have also noticed that the celebrities that share most about their political opinions are mostly popular with young people. This could also have an impact on why they don't have much impact on polls, because people who are influenced by their opinion may be too young to even vote.
